Liz Lynne pays tribute to Sir Cyril Smith New!

Liz Lynne, who followed Sir Cyril Smith to serve as Lib Dem MP for Rochdale from 1992 until 1997, has paid a warm tribute to the legendary politician, who died today, aged 82.

Telford & Wrekin Council is reviewing its existing executive arrangements following legislation passed by the Government. The legislation requires the Council to change its executive decision making process to one of two leadership options, namely Strong Leader or Elected Mayor. The Council would like to find out your views on the two options. You must vote by August 31st.

Voting Reform: Referendum question announced

More details were announced this week on the May 5th Fairer Votes Referendum. The question put to voters will be: "Do you want the United Kingdom to adopt the 'Alternative Vote' system instead of the current 'First Past the Post' system for electing Members of Parliament to the House of Commons?"
